Travel to Houston to propose
Deciding where to propose is a very personal choice. It could be a famously romantic landmark such as the Eiffel Tower which is renowned for lovers sealing their commitment to one another or it could be a location where there are many memories to be created whilst there celebrating becoming engaged.
The city of Houston is one such destination and the perfect combination of busy city life, stunning architecture and miles of wonderful beaches make it a popular spot for those who want to go down on bended knee. Reaching your destination is straight forward too as there are great public transport links available so all you need to do is plan your journey and decide where to head for the big question.
Getting to and traveling around Houston
With the fourth largest airport service in America, Houston has flights arriving and leaving to over 180 cities across the globe.
One you’ve arrived, you can take a taxi to your hotel; there are almost 2500 across the city as well as close to 2000 limousines if you want to travel in luxury. Once in the center, there is the Metro Rail system as well as buses to take you to any tourist attraction. The Metro Rail is expanding all the time and can take you around the city to places such as downtown Houston, NRG Park and the Museum District. Buy an all-day ticket and you can hop on and off as often as you want for a 24 hour period.
Buses are plentiful and the local services stop on every other corner along a route. There are over 1200 serving the Houston area and if you are staying on the edge of the city and have a hire car to get around there are also park and ride schemes.
Where to visit to pop the question
Finding somewhere to ask the love of your life to marry you isn’t difficult in Houston. Some popular spots include:
Kemah Boardwalk; the place to visit at sunset to listen to the sound of the ocean and watch the breaking waves on the sand. The Boardwalk has a special place in the hearts of many both locals and residents and after your proposal has been accepted there are many restaurants you can dine at to celebrate
Luxury river cruise; hope onto one of the small cruise ships which tour the edge of Houston’s waterline and enjoy an exquisite meal with champagne. Propose as the world glides by and the captain takes you both from Kemah to the beautiful Clear Lake and then on to Galveston Bay

It can be busy during the day so visit in the evening when not only are there fewer people there but you’ll be treated to a multi color light show as the sun goes down
